American black metal with a completely unsubtle approach. Nobody in
Krieg has more than a whiff of death metal on their resume but you
wouldn't come to that conclusion from their records; front-loaded but
extremely well balanced at the same time. I wouldn't go so far as to
call them "old school", but they certainly don't have that "new" black
metal sound that everyone hates. No bad albums in this bunch, but god
damn the The Isolationist is a keeper.
The Black House has a bit of a story behind it: N. Imperial
claims to have nightly visions (since he was a child) of himself and
loved ones being brutalized in some horrible dream house. The album is
an attempt to get over his nightmares as both medicine and therapy have
failed. Pretty kvlt.
