 Many say that the best way to cook fish is over an open flame. This way, the juices are preserved and the smoky flavor just adds a delicious touch to the dish. Fish also cooks easily that's why it's ideal for camping. So if you're in the mood to enjoy delicious seafood at your next barbecue, try these amazing grilled fish recipes.





Spicy Maple Grilled Salmon


What you need:


4 salmon fillets

1 green onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon salt

Stir together onion, garlic, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, maple syrup, olive oil, red pepper flakes, ground ginger, sesame oil and salt in a bowl. Place salmon fillets in a large re-sealable plastic bag then pour marinade over fish. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. When ready, remove fish from the bag and discard marinade. Cook salmon fillets skin side down on a pre-heated grill over high heat until cooked through, about 5 to 10 minutes. To serve, drizzle a little bit of maple syrup on top if desired.


Grilled Tropical Tilapia


What you need:


8 tilapia fillets

2 green onions, chopped

2 cups cubed fresh pineapple

1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper

1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro

2 tablespoons plus 4 teaspoons fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon canola oil

1/4 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

Dash of cayenne pepper

Mix together onions, pineapple, green pepper, cilantro, 4 teaspoons lime juice, 1/8 teaspoon salt and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. In another bowl, stir together 2 tablespoons lime juice and canola oil then drizzle over tilapia fillets. Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper. Cook on a pre-heated grill, covered, for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until fish is cooked through. Top with pineapple mixture to serve.


Lemon and Ginger Grilled Halibut


What you need:


4 halibut fillets

2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon slices, for serving

Brush halibut fillets with lemon juice, sprinkle with minced ginger and season with salt and pepper. Cook on a pre-heated covered grill over medium heat, skin side down, for 6 to 8 minutes or until cooked through. To serve, drizzle sesame oil and soy sauce over fillets then top with lemon slices.
