The 34-year-old star even received a salary of 50 percent in his new contract in order to stay.
Unfortunately, Messi's pay cut of 50 percent is still not enough for Barcelona mathematically.
As a result, Messi left Barcelona and was finally supported to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
